Where:
On any public road, particularly in areas where the road, bridge, or structure cannot safely support vehicles exceeding a certain mass.
This is commonly placed near bridges, narrow roads, tunnels, or sections with weak pavement.
Purpose:
To prevent certain heavy vehicles from using a road or part of a road where their weight could;
Damage the road surface or underlying structures.
Endanger the vehicle and other road users due to structural limitations.
Cause traffic hazards if a vehicle is unable to safely maneuver in a restricted area.
Action:
Check the Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) or Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of your vehicle.
If your vehicle exceeds the mass indicated on the sign, you must take an alternative route not restricted by this sign.
If your vehicles GVM or GCM is below the indicated mass, you are permitted to use the road.
Plan routes for heavy vehicles in advance to comply with restrictions and avoid fines or structural damage.
